Yes, they have made mistakes. I have made mistakes. They were blind and groping, and so was I. They were in darkness. I was in darkness. This is regrettable, but this is what we are here for. And now I lift my head in the dignity of who I AM. I know the greater power within me will help me feel the pain I have given, and the pain I have received. ---------Pathwork Lecture #201

RN HEALTH HELP
Fear is the most basic and primitive emotion. It has many forms. Anger is mistaken as a basic emotion but it is really secondary to a fear, For example, we could
become angry at our partner for coming home late because we have a fear that they are giving their affection to someone else. Looking over my experiences,
and reviewing much of the spiritual literature, I believe that there are two fears that need to be brought to your attention. The first is the fear of our own power, as
elucidated in the quote from Marianne Williamson. The second is the fear of feeling the profound intensity of our emotions.
If you were wondering where the mind fits in all of this, this is it. The mind or consciousness is a an energy field. It is not located only in the brain. It is
connected to the body, but not in any one place. This is demonstrated in the surgical suites of hospitals and clinics. The anesthesia puts the brain to sleep, but
the mind continues to record and observe all that happens during surgery. Of course, this information is not easy to access consciously, but with guidance, the
details that are remembered are truly amazing. The brain is simply the primary organ of our complex defense system. Its job is to maintain homeostasis or the
status quo. Change is viewed as something to defend against. Even highly advantageous change is viewed with suspicion. The brain manufactures arguments
that stimulate fearful feelings. The fear is designed to prevent us from harm--by influencing us to fight, flight or freeze. It can be said that fear is the greatest
obstacle to our health and spiritual growth, however, it does have its purpose.
Therefore, talking about our feelings or trying to understand our experiences is only a tiny piece of the puzzle. We also have to feel our emotions. We have to
allow their ebb and flow. Blocked emotions are sometimes buried deep in the body tissues or at different levels of consciousness. Blocked emotions can lead to
pain. Pain is sometimes the first clue that subconscious blocks are present. If you have unusual or persistent pain, go to your physician and have the reasonable
medical tests done. If there is nothing physical to be found at this time, consider complementary and alternative medicine (CAM). CAM is also useful for health
maintenance and preventive care.
I have a holistic approach to CAM. Meaning, I look at the physical symptoms, the exercise and nutritional status, the thinking, the belief system and the attitudes
a person has, to get to the root of the problem that is being focused on. The body is the beginning, and we work towards the higher levels of consciousness.
"[In any] discussion of practical applications for mind-body health is bodywork--the touch therapies of massage, chiropractic, and other modalities...[they] include the body as a means of healing the mind and emotions. [While] it's true, we store some memory in the brain...the deeper, older messages are stored through the body, and accessed through the body. The body is your subconscious mind and you cannot heal it by talk alone." ---Candace Pert
